Welcome and welcome again!

Greetings Gentle Reader,

Years ago, so long ago that the internet wasn't even a thing yet, our coven had a newsletter.  One of the regular articles was titled, "Ask the High Priestess."  It was a way for people to get advice or information from one of the coven elders in a confidential way, and it was useful to other members to read their advice.  I am resurrecting that idea and presenting it for a wider audience.

While I suspect this may become more of an advice blog, a Pagan Ann Landers column if you will, I am willing to answer any questions on Paganism that I feel competent to answer.  I am also willing to answer questions involving ethics, or any situation where a bit of spiritual guidance might be helpful.  My hope is that this will be a fun experience for all involved, but I promise to answer questions in all seriousness.  I will rely on common sense, research, experience, and perhaps such divination techniques as runes, tarot, or dream work to come up with what I feel is the best answer.  But please, consider this for entertainment purposes only; don't change your whole life overnight because my cards might say so!  Questions and answers will be posted for other readers to read, enjoy, and perhaps benefit from.  If you have a pressing question that you would like answered privately, I may answer at my discretion.

That said, please keep in mind that I will keep all information confidential except where I am either obligated by law to do otherwise, or feel that someone is in serious danger of life or limb.

A bit about my own self.  I found the Pagan path in 1986.  While a solitary Pagan off and on over the years, I have also worked with one coven since the early 90's.  I am finally finished with my 3rd degree (Yay!), which in our tradition means that I am a High Priestess.  Rather shortly I will complete my clergy training.  I have been involved in various Pagan communities over the years, including several CUUPS (Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans) groups, one of which I helped found.  I have been active in my local Pagan Pride Day event over several years as well.  I have led public rituals and private ones, and done healing rituals when requested.  I consider myself a Pagan and a Unitarian Universalist, as well as having Buddhist leanings.  I have studied not only the varied Pagan path and worked with Pagans from many backgrounds over the years but I have also formally studied sociology, psychology, world religions, and various physical sciences.  I started with an A.A. in Geology, and was part way through a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Psych when life got in the way.  I feel this gives a well-rounded foundation to my spiritual path and overall outlook on life.

I firmly believe that although life can be filled with joy and beauty, it is also short, and often hard, and that each of us is travelling a difficult path.  I am fascinated by humanity, collectively and individually, and the experiences and progressions though the complicated path of life's existence. I hope to extend kindness and compassion, and that my readers that need comfort or guidance will benefit.  Please keep comments respectful and mindful.

So fire away with your questions by emailing me at askthehighpriestess@ymail.com.

Until we next meet, may the winds of fate blow you gently on your journey!
